Amílcar Franco is a Dominican-born, French-naturalised actor and filmmaker based in London. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he works across film, television and independent cinema.

Known for his quiet authority and subtle depth, Franco often inhabits thoughtful characters operating beneath the surface, balancing restraint with underlying tension.

Before acting, Franco trained as a mechanical engineer and later completed an MBA, spending more than a decade in the corporate sector before making the transition to performance. This unconventional path has shaped a distinctive approach to character, informed by both analytical rigour and lived experience.

He recently wrapped principal photography on A Colt Is My Passport, directed by Gareth Evans for Amazon MGM Studios and Orion Pictures, opposite Jack Reynor. His screen credits include Bezos: The Beginning and Teleport for Prime Video, as well as El Corazón, winner of Best Drama at the BAFTA‑qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival.

As a filmmaker, Franco's work includes The Peanut Vendors, narrated by Alex Jennings and featuring vocals by Christine Allado, which received a nomination at ISFMF Croatia. His latest project, Alive in Their Garden, was developed in dialogue with the Mirabal family and inspired by the legacy of the Mirabal Sisters. The film continues his exploration of intimate, atmospheric stories rooted in Caribbean and Latin American histories.
